I'm a day late and a dollar short, but the sentiment is real! ;-)
Last Saturday--was the 8th only a week ago??--we had a bunch of people over for tacos and games. I think it ended up being 22 or 23 people. I was fondly reminded of Thanksgivings at Grandma's with the noise and the kids (only we just had tacos). Fun! I didn't take many pictures, but did get a couple of shots of the kids playing upstairs before we ate, etc. Please ignore the stack of boxes in the corner! We haven't really done anything with the work room yet, but that means plenty of floor space for Barbies and horses!! Having enough Barbies is not enough . . . there has to be a GIRL Barbie for every girl (they didn't want to "be boys"), so these two played with Mandy and Jenny and had a private tea party of their own.Sorry for no more pictures--you'd be amazed at how many tables we can ramshackle together in our long front room!
On Wednesday, Noelle came down on the train. Erik picked her up as I was in my first of three introductory Quilting Classes! Very fun. :-) More on that another time. Anyway, she and Andy had planned to come for Ben & Pei's wedding shower on the weekend and she was able to come a bit early and spend some time. We did some shopping for dresses to wear at the wedding and also made the promised German meal she has been craving since I blogged about it.
On Saturday morning we headed out for San Dimas and the wedding shower. Pei's good friend Marie (and her husband Adam) coordinated and co-hosted the shower with Devon (and his wife Liz). It was a perfect party on a perfect day!
Pei & MarieDevin & LizDevin and Liz' community has a beautiful little park just down some steps from the houses which they reserved for the shower. Here are Noelle and Andy coming down.Marie decorated with pretty hanging coordinating with the wedding colors--everything was tasteful and pretty!
Jesse & Jenna (Jenna is also standing up in the wedding; since they had to sneak out before the group pictures, I thought I'd introduce them here)
We played several fun games including a quiz to see how well people knew the wedding couple (Noelle won that one!) and a rousing game of wedding pictionary (the team pictured here did NOT win, we did!!) :D
The happy couple with their Giant Cake
We also played Bingo while they opened gifts. Here Ben is demonstrating his ability to explore in his new shirt . . .
And in this picture, Pei demonstrates how they will use the monocular! :-)

The Ladies
The Gentlemen
Fun to be together!
Back on the ranch . . . my darling husband setting the table for breakfast on Sunday morning after our long day and late night (we had to be at church early so that Erik could run the sound board for worship practice prior to service and Noelle and Andy decided to get an early start home).
He cooks too! Erik made the monkey bread (almost) by himself. Isn't he adorable??
Sunday afternoon I helped host a bridal shower for a friend from church (for more pics, see Dove Creek Bible Church on Facebook).
After the shower, the boys were allowed back into the house and kids came out to help polish off the shrimp. I had to include these because they make me giggle.
We're enjoying unseasonably cool and wet weather which has everyone weirded out, but I'm LOVING IT!!! Usually by this time it's miserably hot--it can stay this way all summer in my book.
Today was my last day in the school for the year; it was fun giving my kiddos books and reading together one last time. Women's bible study is done now until the fall too, but lest you think we'll fall into boredom: tonight we have small group, tomorrow is my quilting class and Friday is Food Pantry day! Hopefully we'll find some time in there to do some work out in the yard as well.
Th-th-th-th-that's all, folks!
