Happy Independence Day!

That is a red, white and blue brownie, and a very happy Erik. :-)Yesterday we drove to Tehachapi (about an hour from us) to enjoy their Fourth of July concert and fireworks. We met some friends from church and had a picnic beforehand. Wayne & Connie, wonderful friends from church
Steve & Christy, whose wedding we recently attended! Christy plays the french horn in the orchestra and invited us all to come.

What a fun way to spend our Independence Day! It was MUCH cooler up in the mountains, and it had the small town feel I miss so much. This may just become a tradition!
Completely unrelated, I'm finally posting pictures of the two little quilts I made in my Quilting 101 class. I haven't finished the ones from the 201 class (which was over last Wednesday), but will post pics someday when I'm done. They are smaller, but actually quilted rather than tied as these are. Thanks to everyone who has served or is serving our country--I am thankful for you!
