Christmas is Coming!

Is anyone else BUSY lately?! In a good way, of course.

Last Thursday night I got to go Christmas Caroling with REALITY (our youth group) at the nursing home they're visiting once a month. We had a great time and so did the residents (no pictures allowed, unfortunately)!

On Friday I went with a group from church to a Teen Challenge women's facility in town. Our pastor spoke at their afternoon chapel meeting and we prayed with people afterward. It was a powerful time! In the evening Sergio came over for dinner and some game time; it was good to see him as it's been a while.

Saturday morning was rehearsal for the kids' Christmas Program at church.

Our AngelsThe non-kid in this picture is one of the organizer/directors
How cute are these cousins?
Our star, donkeys and an angel ;-)
A little bit of a ham? These three (and their brother) have a brand new sister!
Ms. Connie is my co-teacher in Sunday School (we alternate months).
Practice ended around noon; I raced home to get ready for ladies to come to our house at 2pm. We're calling our monthly knitting/crocheting/project get-together "Get Loopy."
It's going to be a scarf! (this is our friend Christy who plays the french horn)
Here's the new sister I mentioned, just over a week old. Don't let this picture fool you; Amanda got more done on her projects than I did!
Carolyn is learning to crochet (and learning that it gets easier after that first row is done!)Kelly's blanket is coming along nicely.Evalyn & Michelle Isn't Colleen's yarn beautiful?
That evening we went to see a series of one-act plays, one of which was written by a friend of ours. Patty's was great, and the best of the bunch!

After church on Sunday, we went to Christy's Christmas concert. Then we came home and collapsed for the evening.

Today Erik worked on fixing/strengthening the table which, while wobbly before, became a bit of a hazard after I moved it by myself. Oops. :-/ Note to self: Wait for help!

Favorite Conversation of Today:

Please keep in mind that it is a Monday, when Erik switches his sleep schedule back to nights. This dialogue followed several minutes of complete silence after I'd snapped the last picture and he had given a satisfied sigh at being done.

Me (from the kitchen): Honey . . . ?

Erik (after pause): Yeah?

Me: Aren't you done?

Erik: Yeah.

Me: What are you doing?

Erik: Watching.

Me: Watching glue dry?

Erik (after another pause): Yeah.

Me: It's time for your nap.

Erik: Ok.

While Erik worked on the table (and while he was sleeping), I was busy in the kitchen.

These are waiting for Wednesday night when little elves will come to help me frost them. These are just looking pretty and waiting to be added to plates of cookies for upcoming Christmas events!
And these are waiting to be made into little creamy wafer sandwiches . . . one day soon while we sit and watch a Christmas movie. :-)
Wish you were here as we prepare for Christmas!

In Erik's defense, I find myself staring at glue drying for a few reasons. 1. Take a chance to relax and admire your work. 2. Check over it and see if you missed anything. 3. Watch as it sets to make sure something doesn't fall off or flop over or otherwise go wrong.

4. Because you've inhaled too many fumes... 5. If you, like Erik, haven't slept in 36 hours (or w/e, LOL)... :-P
