On Sunday night I was laying on the floor with Sophi and discovered a very large, hard mass in her stomach. We went to the vet this morning and they took x-rays; I was finally able to take the poor stressed girl home a little after 5pm.
Sophi has a large tumor on her spleen, which is probably cancerous. It's so large, it's pushing a bunch of her insides up toward her backbone; this is also why she's been eating less and feeling so much thinner. If the tumor bursts, which it will do eventually if left alone, she will bleed to death. They can try to remove it, but won't know if that's possible until they go in. If it's not... likely they would put her to sleep on the table. If it IS, they will remove it and do a biopsy.
I'm posting this here because I can't talk to everyone about it. Please don't call. Just pray.
Love from both of us.

Dr H just took out a splenic tumor from a Bouvier yesterday morning! It's been ages since we've done one, and now, there you are with Sophie! 0_0
The Bouvier is doing great, she walked out under her own power to spend the night at the 24-hour clinic last night, and came back same this morning to continue receiving fluid therapy at my work.
Her spleen had not one big tumor, but four smaller ones. Not the biggest I've seen, but respectable.
So I can tell you a goodly percentage of dogs undergoing this surgery do well.
Here's hoping!

Many sympathies. I hope things go well.
So sorry to hear about that...I hope she does well.
Hey Christel,
We will all be praying. Please keep us posted. I am so sorry.

Christel,
You and Sophi are in my prayers. I know how much losing your pet - your family member - can hurt.
Please take care of yourself as well.
