Eep! Reprimanded again. Keep me on my toes, Kirsten--it's motivating to know someone's reading. :-)
Last week and again this week, we are striving to keep a tight schedule while remaining sane. I'm assisting the Prop Master in Bakersfield Music Theater's production of Annie, which has been a lot of fun. It has also meant juggling on both Erik's and my part as we figure out how to share the car with this nightly time commitment. I've been dropping Erik off at work and then going to the theatre (this means leaving the house at about 6:15 pm). I get home somewhere between 10:30 and 11:30 pm and then get up again somewhere between 4:30 and 5 am when Erik calls so that I can leave the house and be at his work about the same time he rolls in. He drives us home and then I fall back into bed for a bit as he goes to sleep. Workable, but definitely trying. After this week though, no more rehearsals. Show times will be much easier to work around. :-)
So that's what I've been up to lately--that and running around town trying to find and/or make props. It's quite a process! I'm learning lots and having fun.
I said last month that I was astonished to find that spring was already peeking its head, and now I must say that we've been having some Quite Chilly Weather! The past week has been pretty cold, with alternating sunshine, grey clouds, rain; Erik has even run into snow on his nightly run a couple of times. We're not complaining though--knowing that grossly hot weather is just around the corner, we'll enjoy all the range of springtime temperatures we get! Anyway, before our recent cold snap, we took a little jaunt out to look at some orchards that are gloriously blooming. Doesn't it look like snow? I love spring. :-)And the other day we were walking the dogs close to home when we came upon these trees. I had to run home to get the camera. This first one isn't a great picture, but it gives you an idea. The buds were gorgeous and bright, the branches dark and the sky so very blue!

Well, what a nice reward for yet again checking your blog this morning! Beautiful pictures! What kind of trees are in the orchard photos? They look lots bigger than our apples/cherries. I could almost smell the blossoms. It's warmed up a bit here - and we're having some rain, but it's just grey, grey, grey!
I've always thought it would be fun to work backstage for a play - glad you're doing it and having fun! Love, k (What made you think the comment was from me?)
We have a lot of nut trees around here; I'm guessing these are almonds, but I'm not sure. As for the comment . . . not many others do!! ;-) oxox
